To the victor goes the spoils. Celebration time for the 2007 NCB Capital Markets Masters League Champions, Park Rovers.

The game was evenly matched as both teams played cautiously and failed to display the level  of football that got them to the final. Pelicans came close in the 24th minute but leading goal scorer, Rohan Rousseau's fierce right footer struck the upright. In the second half, both teams increased the tempo and created a few chances without scoring. But in the 74th minute with the game seems destined for extra time, poor marking by the Pelicans defense allowed James to be unmarked in the goal area for a simple game-winning tap-in.

Pelicans Manager, Andrew Reid (7), is consoled by a supporter as the Pelicans bench looks on in somber disappointment after their 1-0 upset loss to 2007 NCB Capital Markets Masters League Champions, Park Rovers on Saturday at Harbour View Stadium.

With time running out, Pelicans pressed for the all-important tying goal to force extra-time, but the final whistle of referee Winston Delahaye signaled the disappointing end to the flight of the Pelicans, and delight and joy for the new and deserving champions, Park Rovers of Duhaney Park.

Both Ken Ellis of St. George's and Rousseau of Pelicans finished the season with 13 goals each, and are joint-winners of the 2007 Golden Boot scoring title. Rousseau played well all season, and is expected to be named the League's most valuable player (MVP). Ellis won both the scoring title and the MVP award in 2006.
